Ray Jones

President and Founder

God called Ray Jones into Ministry in August of 1969 in Alexandria, LA. He immediately began to serve the Lord in youth singing groups, jail ministries, nursing homes, personal evangelism and a weekly local television broadcast. After High School graduation in 1972, Ray sang with a Louisiana College group called The Common Good and later became a member of the Foundation Singers, a full-time ministry based out of Baton Rouge, LA. These traveling ministries allowed Ray to experience ministry in schools, churches, prisons, and many other places outside the walls of the church. In 1975, Ray began to serve in the local church ministry on a full-time basis. He has served churches in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree in music at Louisiana Tech University and was invited to do post graduate studies at Louisiana Tech as the graduate assistant to the Director of Choral Activities in 1980.

In 1981, under the leadership of the Lord, Ray launched Radiance Ministries. The purpose of the ministry was to help the church get outside the walls of its buildings sharing Christ and helping people understand true worship of Christ. Ray has traveled extensively nationally and internationally to Mexico, Russia (Moldova), Haiti and Central America to share Christ and teach the church about worship. This ministry continues to function by taking groups of people to the streets to share the good news of Jesus and by teaching the church about worship.

Ray accepted the position of Worship Pastor at Community Bible Church (San Antonio, TX) in November of 1992. God has grown this fellowship from 230 people in worship to over 20,000 in worship. Currently the Worship ministry at CBC has over 1,200 people involved in leading worship or training the next generation of worshipers.

Ray has become a regular speaker at worship conferences all over the nation, speaking to worship leaders on a wide range of topics including choirs, multi-generational worship, leading after “50” and congregational engagement. He has one book published, Will You Worship?, that is in its fourth printing. It is a 30-day study to help believers take personal responsibility for their own worship life. Recently, Ray has been invited to sit on the Board of Directors for the Liberty University School of Worship.

Ray is married to Andrea and they have 4 awesome boys; David, Jonathan, Benjamin and Christopher. Ray, Andrea, Benjamin and Christopher are published songwriters. They have many collections of songs from CBC that are published by Prism Music, Lillenas Music and LifeWay Worship. With over 60 songs published they are having an impact on the worship of churches all over the country.

The reality of sharing our resume is not that you would be impressed with where we have been or what we have done. All of what you see here is a direct result of God’s leadership and favor in our lives. This is His calling on us and we have simply tried to be obedient in following His direction.

Andrea Jones

Vice President

Andrea Jones started playing guitar and leading worship during her teenage years. After receiving a BA degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, she began a flying career with the United States Air Force. Later, she flew commercially for US Airways and was an instructor pilot for Simuflite.

In 1991, Andrea married Ray Jones and began traveling extensively with her newly blended family, which included Ray’s teenage sons, David and Jonathan. Then in November of 1992, Ray joined the staff of Community Bible Church in San Antonio, and with Andrea’s support, began building the church’s worship ministry. 1992 also brought what was to become Andrea’s most valued career, as the Jones family celebrated the birth of son Benjamin and later, in 1997, son Christopher.

While raising her sons, Andrea has also continued to enjoy leading worship and writing music with her family. Together, they have written and published numerous songs with Prism, Lillenas Print, and Lifeway music companies. As a pilot, Andrea also has a heart for mentoring young women as they prepare for and navigate the education and career choices available to them, and letting them know “the sky is the limit.”

Although her number 1 ministry passion is leading worship, the empty nest phase of life brought Andrea an opportunity to return to the cockpit, and she now flies for Southwest Airlines. Andrea loves to spend time in Dallas with son Benjamin, his wife Katie, and their adorable dog Phil, and in Austin, with son Christopher, his wife Jenny, and their cute puppy Sunnie. She can also be spotted on local hiking trails with Ray.
